The Barossa

The Barossa is surely one of the worlds greatest brands. It is normally met with immediate recognition particularly if you like wine. Situated just a little way from Adelaide the whole area is softer and greener than a lot of Australia and very pretty too. It is not normally the Australia we head for but it is an unmissable area if you are travelling this way. You can see the Barossa Valley from hot air balloon, helicopter or some fabulous scenic car tours that cover miles of grape vines and wineries.

Strangely we were here for a reunion to meet up with Sandy and Liz who we first bumped into a couple of thousand kilometres away in Queensland some 6 years ago. It's a long story but we haven't seen them since although they live in the UK. We camped at Williamstown and then spent a memorable and happy weekend with them sampling and buying some of the best wines on offer around the Barossa.

Travelling in a campervan is about more than the places you see. It's about the people you meet and friends you make. We have vowed not to wait another 6 years before meeting up again.
