Said goodbye to John and Diane. It’s always a bit sad after such a good few days. First stop was to a local shopping centre to sort out a few IT problems. When in Australia we use a Telstra dongle for internet access. Telstra have the best coverage over the whole of Australia and we can get online in most of the towns we pass through. This time we’ve had problems but a good hour in the Telstra shop got us sorted.
Our first good drive in Geoffrey* (our name for the campervan) was not a long one. We went about 120km to Bunbury on the coast below Perth. We came down here to meet up with Chris and Sally who we bought Geoffrey from. The van performed just great and we booked in to a campsite on the waterfront that Chris had recommended. We met them for drinks later and had a good chat about campervans in general and they were able to give us good information about some of the places we’ll pass through and also gave us some good recommendations about where to stop and where not to stop.
Our first real days travelling starts tomorrow when we’ll travel east towards Esperance.
