Today we motored the few miles to Hamilton Marina on Hamilton Island. It’s the only place where you can get supplies in the Whitsundays apart from Airlie Beach where we picked the boat up. There’s not much we need really. Sadly alcohol is the most pressing. It’s a very expensive place to visit even for a couple of hours which is what we did but they did send two guys out in a boat to meet us who guided us in, took our lines and tied us up. What service.
One of the most striking things about the Hamilton Island Resort is that the main mode of transport is the electric buggy. Liz commented that the place looked like Toytown. You know you’re somewhere exclusive when the pies in the bakery have Hamilton Island and a picture of a yacht baked into the top of them.
After buying supplies we left and had another great downwind sail in 20 to 25 knots of wind to Lindeman Island on the southern end of the Whitsundays. We stayed the night anchored in Plantation Bay.
Swim, cocktails, dinner!
