Early start this morning. The captain brings tea at 6.30 am and then we sailed round the northern tip of the Whitsundays heading for Saba Bay for lunch and snorkelling. At this time of year when snorkelling you have to wear special stinger suits to protect you from jellyfish. They are not the most flattering things (photographic evidence supplied!) but necessary.
Later we sailed through the Hook Island Passage and anchored for the night in Dugong Inlet. As usual it’s cocktails and dinner and we were treated to a superb sunset. Later Sandy, our captain was fishing and after a few close calls caught an asolute beaut. We netted it and got it on board but unfortunately Sandy got the hook stuck in his finger and in the ensuing flap the fish escaped overboard. Perhaps cocktail hour had lasted a bit too long. Discussion and the ultimate blame for this disaster will go on for many years.
