Another long day with just the odd small town for interest. We stopped at Augethella, looked at the small museum and also the lovely old cinema which is now closed but advertises the classic old film Smiley made over 60 years ago about a young boy who grew up in Augethella. The soundtrack was a big hit back in the day.

We took a detour out to Isisford. It was getting late as we did the last part of the journey and we were dodging kangaroos as they jumped out from the burnt brown vegetation. Not a game we would recommend. Isisford is a great little place with camping behind the pub and just one small main street. We stayed on an extra night and as we were the only tourists in town you soon get known. On a walk round the town Colin, who was watering his garden invited us in to look at his old Austin car and his leatherwork that he does. An hour and 2 cups of coffee later we were still there as he regaled us with tales of his life living in outback Australia.

The pub was great and they had their own system of meals on wheels for the elderly in the town. They could come in every night and get a free meal. So we sat in the very 50's dining room with the rest and enjoyed a very nice chicken dinner. What a great system as the old folks don't just get fed but get some company every day as well. Colin and his wife were there and he told us he had never been to a dentist in his life. Any bad teeth he pulled out himself with a pair of pliers.
